RECONNECTION
Reconnection to yourself. Reconnection to your community. Reconnection to your world.
Inter-Uni MUN 2021 Official Theme
Over the past year and two, the world has gone through various forms and stages of separation as we are hit with a global pandemic, natural disasters, terrorism and many other horrifying events. We hope to shine a new light to the current circumstances and recreate a new appreciation for those around us. Thus, we would like to invite you to RECONNECT with your fellow students, your communities and our global network. Grab your Inter-Uni MUN boarding passes and passports and join us on a journey to rebuild this world we share together.
As part of this initiative, Inter-Uni MUN 2021 would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, upon which the University of Sydney Camperdown campus sits and where we will meet. We recognise that this land was never terra nullius and that it was never ceded, given up, bought or sold.
Frequently Asked Questions
These are only some of the FAQs we have been asked so far. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to submit more FAQs.
What is Model United Nations?
Model United Nations (also known as Model UN or MUN) is an educational simulation of the real United Nations. Students will play the role of delegates from different states and national bodies and discuss global issues from the perspective of their assigned role. Participating in such activity can help develop greater diplomacy skills and learn more of current international affairs and how the UN works.
Do we need to be a member of a university society to attend this conference?
No! The only requirement for this conference is for you to be a current or recently graduated student from a tertiary level institution.
I want to attend the conference but I don't study at an Australian tertiary-level institution.
You don't need to study at an Australian tertiary-level institution to come to our conference. We are welcoming students from all tertiary-level institutions across the globe. However, we do not hold the responsibility, or are liable, for your travel to or your stay within Australia.
I graduated in 2021 and was planning to attend the conference. Now that it is postponed to 2022, would I still be eligible?
Yes! We have decided as a team to allow any recent graduates to attend the conference. We understand that due to the postponement some of you would no longer be university students in February 2022.
I want to attend the conference but cannot afford to pay the ticket price outright. What should I do?
We have a financial assistance program which might be able to help. Please email us at inter.uni.mun@gmail.com for more information.
