UNHRC

United Nations Human Rights Council

This year the UNHRC will be focusing on the issue of reproductive rights.
--------
Reproductive rights have become a global topical issue. Worldwide, there are countless debates and contentions on issues of healthcare, education, pro-life versus pro-choice and the roles and responsibilities of every individual. Altogether, this committee hopes to reconnect all members of society through an open discussion of reproductive rights.

DISEC

United Nations General Assembly First Committee on Disarmament and International Security

This year the DISEC committee will discuss the ongoing conflict in Kashmir between India and Pakistan and focus on possible solutions towards peace and further negotiations.
--------
In 1999, the Kargil War began between India and Pakistan over the disputed region of Kashmir. Both countries have nuclear weapons, with India conducting its nuclear tests in 1998 and Pakistan shortly after. Kashmir is a disputed region in which both countries have fought two wars. With the possibility of nuclear warfare, this committee hopes to bring peace talks and negotiations over the future of Kashmir.

UNSC Crisis

United Nations Security Council Crisis Committee

This year the contemporaneous UNSC Crisis committee will focus on the ongoing violent conflict in Syria.
--------
In the midst of the Syrian civil war, the Syrian government faces allegations of chlorine gas attacks. Millions are displaced whilst war between the rebels and the government continues. As a cabinet one must seek an answer to investigate the allegations of gas attacks and seek a resolution for the war.
--------
This year we will be introducing cabinets to Crisis. There will be roles, such as the President and the Foreign Minister, representing different nations and states, which means you can represent the personal interests of your role. This also means you can attend with your friends or fellow delegates as teams.

UNSC Crisis (Dystopia)

United Nations Security Council Crisis Committee

This year we are introducing a UNSC Crisis committee set in a futuristic dystopian world. This committee will be focusing on the risks of a major water war as delegates try to piece together a broken world. There will also be other major environmentally focused topics discussed in this committee.
--------
It is 2035 and a major drought has led to global shortage of water. The UN is slowly falling apart and countries are relying on the UN Security Council, instead of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change to solve some pressing environmental and political concerns. Sudan and Ethiopia are accusing Egypt of keeping the Nile water to itself. The Ethiopian government is dealing with a major famine in the country and Sudan in the midst of a civil unrest over fuel prices and basic needs. Both these governments have deployed troops close to Egypt’s border, sounding the bells of war. As delegates you must seek a resolution and prevent a major water war from breaking out.
--------
There are no cabinets for this crisis committee.

The University of Sydney

sidere mens eadem mutato

The University of Sydney (USYD) is Australia's first and oldest university. Founded in 1850, USYD has become a leading public research university across the globe. It is also one of the sandstone universities in Australia alongside the University of Adelaide, University of Melbourne, University of Queensland, University of Tasmania and University of Western Australia. The main campus is situated on a bloc across Camperdown and Darlington and consists of some amazingly designed architecture. The most famous section would be the Quadrangle, where you can find the Great Hall and the MacLaurin Hall (and apparently Hogwarts).
